Our History

Santiago and Felipa Un Ocampo  set up  Ocampo’s Guagua, the first and original Ocampo’s store.

Santiago L. Ocampo, together with his eldest son Ricardo and daughter-in-law Evansuida Gueco, established what would be the second of Ocampo’s chain stores in Angeles Pampanga.

This practice of putting a son in business and shouldering the original investment until it is  gradually paid off, though unique, is an old policy of Santiago.

The new edifice on Plaridel and Mabini streets was inaugurated.  It is now the permanent home  and main office of Ocampo’s Angeles.

The yearly tradition of the special Lenten  “Open House Sale” with  jewelry sold  at cost  was introduced.  This  has continued up  to the present day.OcamposJewelry-VerticalLine-White

Evansuida Ocampo took  courses on diamonds, colored stones and gem identification and went through actual lab work to get the Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America in Los Angeles (GIA), becoming  the first Filipina graduate gemologist.

Corito, eldest daughter of Evansuida and Ricardo, earned her Graduate Gemologist diploma. Her sisters Divina, Evita,  and Finina followed the same path upon graduation

The first branch in Metro Manila was inaugurated at Rustan  Mall Cubao, Quezon City under the able management of Divina, the second child of Ricardo and Evansuida.

Evansuida, Corito and Divina conducted the first of a series of workshops on diamonds and other precious stones at the Asian Institute of Tourism.

Ricardo and Evansuida passed away and their children took over the business.
